What we’re about
A Veteran’s struggle doesn’t end when they’re brought back home. Indeed, often, a whole new struggle begins. The rates at which Veterans suffer from isolation and loneliness, increased rates of depression, and even homelessness are far too high, especially considering our ability, if we choose to, to remember their extraordinary personal sacrifices, and to bring them back into the folds of our communities. Offering a seat at our table, a cup of coffee and a conversation is a simple, effective way to do just that.
We believe that a healthy community embraces all of its members, encourages gathering and conversation, and ensures that all persons within that community are welcomed and cherished with the dignity and appreciation they deserve.
Among the many populations within our community deserving of recognition and appreciation are our Veteran population. Cups For Community, founded in honor and remembrance of Navy Vet Rev. Steve Perry, known among so many for his warm, welcoming, and loving embrace of all people, is dedicated to curating opportunities for communities to gather together with those among us who have sacrificed so much for the benefit of all the liberties and freedoms our country stands for, around cups of hot coffee (or tea), friendly conversation, and a remembrance that as our community holds us together, so we must hold together our community..
